Our store is located in the historic, picturesque town of Leura in the Blue Mountains. With over 43 years of experience in the jewellery industry, Irene has called the Blue Mountains home since opening her store in 2005.
Offering her clients exceptional pieces of fine antique and modern jewellery, she is an invaluable source of knowledge and information to customers who want to learn about the history and skills of the unique pieces she acquires. Priding herself in being the custodian of such rare pieces of jewellery that she will one day pass on to her clients, Irene will sit down with you and talk you through the quality and craftsmanship of these spectacular one-of-a kind pieces.
Our antique pieces have been sourced both locally and worldwide with the majority of our pieces originating from America, France, Austria and the United Kingdom. All our jewellery is checked by our jeweller and setter in our workshop before being displayed for sale in store. All pieces are also checked and tested by our qualified gemologists and an independent valuation is accompanied by your purchase to authenticate the piece.
The business also offers a wide range of services from custom made jewellery to remodelling, resizing and repair with our ability to restore antique jewellery that the majority of Sydney jewellers are not willing to touch.
The Irene Byrne & Co workshop is located in the Sydney CBD and customers are given the option to meet with one of our team members if they are unable to travel back to the Blue Mountains to pickup.
Irene’s children are both heavily involved in the business, being born in the industry with both parents in the trade. Together they have graduated from the Gemmological Association of Australia in Diamond Grading and Gemmology, being awarded the NSW Management Committee Award for the Highest Mark in 2015 and being proud members of the Gemmological Association of Australia. Both children travel and source pieces globally and help control the high quality standards the business is best known for.
