Behold the elegance and opulence embodied in this exquisite Art Deco ring, a masterful creation from circa 1925. This stunning piece is a veritable embodiment of the Art Deco era's glamour, featuring a harmonious blend of diamonds and onyx meticulously set in luxurious platinum.

At the heart of the ring lies a captivating cluster of five old European cut diamonds. The center piece boasts 0.53 carats, graded in setting as a dazzling G colour with SI2 clarity. Surrounding this central gem are four additional old European cut diamonds with a total weight of 1.00 carats, adding depth and sparkle to the composition. These diamonds are graded between G/VS to SI2, enhancing the ring's luminous elegance.

Complementing the brilliance of the diamonds, four fancy cut onyx stones, each 3mm in size, provide a striking contrast with their deep black hues, further enhancing the overall allure.

A halo of twelve single cut diamonds, collectively weighing 0.20 carats, encircle the cluster. Their G to H color and VS clarity radiate brilliance and fire, creating a mesmerising dance of light. The delicate pavé setting showcases the skilled craftsmanship of the era, with each diamond intricately nestled into the platinum band.

This ring is a testament to the enduring sophistication and artistic finesse of the Art Deco period. It captures the essence of a bygone era, where luxury and geometric precision came together to create pieces that were both timeless and extraordinary.

Glamour and Grace: The Iconic Women Behind Art Deco Rings

The women who adorned themselves with Art Deco diamond and onyx rings were often seen as trailblazers of their time. They embraced the new freedoms and societal changes of the Roaring Twenties, reflecting a spirit of independence and modernity. These women were often:

  1. Fashion-Forward: They kept abreast of the latest trends, not only in jewellery but in fashion, art, and design, often being seen as trendsetters themselves.

  2. Bold and Independent: The Art Deco era coincided with a time when women were gaining more independence, including the right to vote and greater participation in the workforce. These rings symbolised their bold spirit and willingness to embrace change.

  3. Socially Active: Many women who wore Art Deco jewellery were part of the social elite, attending glamorous parties, soirées, and events where such statement pieces would shine.

  4. Culturally Engaged: They were often involved in or influenced by the cultural shifts of the time, such as the Jazz Age and the rise of cinema, which celebrated modernity and new forms of artistic expression.

Art Deco diamond and onyx rings, therefore, were more than just jewellery—they were symbols of a dynamic era and the women who lived it with vivacity and style.
