A remarkable piece of wearable history. A Victorian ruby and diamond hinged bangle, made around the year 1895. This bangle is over 130 years old and in superb condition. Set in warm 15ct yellow gold, the slender bangle is studded with nine graduated natural oval rubies totalling 1.65ct. These rubies are unusually large and of fine calibre, vivid, saturated colour with exceptional clarity. A combination that is increasingly rare on the market today. Accompanied by 18 old cut diamonds (total 0.30ct) in a delicate bead setting, the contrast between the rubies rich red and the yellow gold is quietly luxurious.
